                                Truncation

Health Source:Nursing/Academic offers the option to truncate a search. Truncation allows the researcher to do one search for multiple endings of a word.  To do a truncation search you will use a truncation symbol to locate all forms of the word.  In Health Source: Nursing/Academic the truncation symbol is an asterisk(*).

For example, the root word diabe*  has different possible endings:

diabetes, diabetic, diabetid, diabetogenic, etc.
