● If the location field in the record states circulating collection, these items are arranged alphabetically by call number together. Books in the circulating collection can be checked out.

● If the location field states reference collection, these items will be together in the reference area. Reference books cannot be checked out.

● Journals in the Montgomery College libraries are arranged alphabetically by title in the journal collection area. They are not given call numbers, but each journal title will have a record in the online catalog so that the researcher will know that a particular journal is available in the library for their use. Journals cannot be checked out.

● Videocassettes are arranged by call number in a separate media collection and can be checked out.

● Reserve materials are located behind the circulation desk and can only be used in the library.
