                        In-Text Citations: Step 4

How quotations are formatted depends on the how long or short they are.

●  For fewer than four typed lines in your text, enclose the quotation within double quotation marks and incorporate it into the text.

 

Example:

 

Spelling argues that during the 1970s American automobile

manufacturers met consumer needs "as well as could be expected"  but not everyone agrees with him (26).
