                     Works Cited Page: Step 2

To format your works cited page:

●  Begin your works cited page on a separate page from the text of the paper. Do include the page number.

●  Title the page Works Cited (do not underline the words Works Cited nor put quotation marks).  Center the words Works Cited at the top of the page.

●  Double space all entries and do add extra lines between entries.

●  Use the left margin for the first line of each citation entry - -that is, each work you cite in  your paper.  Each extra line of the same citation should be indented one-half inch (or 5 spaces).  This is known as a hanging indent.  The reader can easily see where each

citation entry begins by looking for where it "sticks out" to the left margin.

●  Alphabetize the list by the first word of each citation entry.
