Health Source: Nursing/Academic provides scholarly full text journals, abstracts and indexing on many medical disciplines.
START:
• From workstations in the library, click on the Montgomery College Libraries icon. Click on
one of the options below to search databases available. Click on Health Source: Nursing/Academic
database to begin your search.

• If you are off-campus, type the URL: www.montgomerycollege.edu/library to go to the
Library Web page. You will be asked to log-in when you click on the Health Source:Nursing/
Academic database to begin your search.

SEARCH:
Health Source:Nursing/Academic offers two
methods of searching but defaults to the
.
To choose the Advanced Search, click
on the
above the
green bar.
• Type your keywords in the narrow, long white box located at the top of the screen next to the word
Find.
• Limit your searches by using the options located below Limit your Results.

• To expand your search, click in the options located below Expand your search to:.

To
enter the search, click on the
button to the
right of the Find box.
Keyword Search allows you to search using a word, phrase or boolean searching. Boolean
searching uses AND, OR, and NOT.
• AND combines search words so results contain all of the words.
Example: physical therapy and massage therapy will retrieve articles that include both words.
• OR combines search words so results will have at least one of the words.
Example: physical therapy or massage therapy will retrieve articles that contains one or
both words.
• NOT excludes terms so that the articles retrieved will not include a word.
Example: physical therapy not massage therapy will result in articles that contain the word
physical therapy but not massage therapy.
VIEWING RESULTS:
Your search will produce a listing of citations. To sort the results by source, author, or relevance,
click on the drop down menu Sort by and select an option:

To view the full bibliographic record of an article, click on the title of the article.
• To view the full text of an article,
click on

title and citation information. Not everything is full text. If you do not see either option above, then
the article is not full text in the database.
PRINTING AND E-MAILING ARTICLES:
