Page 19 of 20 Locations: Step 3 The following are the different types of collection locations that you will find in the online catalog. Circulating collection means that the item can be checked out and the arrangement in the stacks are alphabetically by call number in the circulating collection area. Reference collection materials cannot be checked out of the library but are available for use in the library only. These books are arranged by call number in the reference collection area. Folio collection indicates that the book is oversized and will be shelved in a special area of the library only. These books are arranged by call number. Journal collection does not have call numbers but are arranged alphabetically by title in the journal area. Reserve collection are items that the professor has asked to be set aside for the class to use. The material cannot be taken out of the library and are located behind the circulation desk. Videocassette collection is located together on special shelving for videos by call number. Last updated
