                                                 Truncation

MC Library Catalog offers the option to truncate a search.  For example, Truncation  allows the researcher to do one search for multiple endings of diabetes instead of searching for each ending separately.  To do a truncation search you will use a truncation symbol to locate all forms of the word.  In MC Library Catalog the truncation symbol is a question mark(?).

For example, the root word diabe? has different possible endings.

                     diabetes, diabetic, diabetid, diabetogenic, etc.
