Seeks Two New Trustees
Montgomery College seeks to fill two positions on its Board of Trustees. The applicants selected will serve six-year terms starting July 1, 2005.
The Board of Trustees is the governing body for Montgomery College, which enrolls almost 22,000 credit students at campuses in Germantown, Rockville, and Takoma Park, Maryland. In addition, there are more than 25,000 enrollments each year in the Collegeís Workforce Development and Continuing Education programs.
Persons who wish to be considered for a trustee position may not be employed by the College in any capacity. Applicants must attend a one-hour orientation session at Montgomery College before being interviewed by the nominating committee. Trustees devote more than 240 hours per year as board members and receive no compensation.
Board members are appointed by the Governor, upon recommendation of a five-person nominating committee. With the exception of the student Board member, the Governorís appointments are subject to State Senate confirmation.
Montgomery County residents interested in serving on the Montgomery College Board of Trustees should submit a letter of intent and a resume, together with any supporting references or other documentation by e-mail, to the Chair of the Nominating Committee, Dr. Robert C.
