Montgomery College Seeks Applicants for Alumni Association Board of Governors
Applications Are Due to Nominating Committee on Feb. 12

The nominating committee for the Montgomery College Alumni Association Board of Governors is now accepting applications from former Montgomery College students interested in serving a three-year term, beginning July 1, 2009.

Former Montgomery College students interested in serving on the Alumni Association Board of Governors should submit a letter of intent and a résumé, together with any supporting references or other documentation, to the chairman of the nominating committee, Etienne Takougang, no later than Thursday, Feb. 12, at 5 p.m., at the e-mail address noted below.

The Board of Governors is the governing body for the Montgomery College Alumni Association. The Alumni Association operates as part of the Montgomery College Foundation, Inc. The Board of Governors sets policy and program direction for the Alumni Association and its sponsored activities. Board members devote more than 30 hours per year as a board member and receive no compensation.  The Board is comprised of up to 36 members, representing a broad spectrum of alumni and retirees. Alumni Association membership is open to all former students—whether or not they graduated—and all retired staff and faculty of the College.

The Association relies on active, involved board members to ensure the best results for its members. The members of the Montgomery College Alumni Association Board will be recommended by a volunteer interview committee and placed on a slate by the current Board of Governors. Candidates are elected through an electronic ballot sent to Alumni Association members each spring.

Letters of intent, résumés and other materials, including a telephone number and e-mail address, should be sent to: alumni@montgomerycollege.edu.  The deadline for receipt of the submission is Thursday, February 12, 2009.
