Montgomery College Launches 'Swim for Scholarships'
Event to Raise Money for Health Sciences Students, April 23

Montgomery College is looking for a few good swimmers and volunteers to participate in the “Swim for Scholarships” event on April 23, at 9:30 a.m., at the Takoma Park Campus, Allen T. Murray, Jr. Aquatic Center, Falcon Hall, 7600 Takoma Avenue, Takoma Park.  “Swim for Scholarships” supports scholarships for Montgomery College health sciences students.  All proceeds from the swim will go to the Montgomery College Foundation.

Swimmers interested in participating are asked to register by Wednesday, March 23.  All swimmers must be at least 18 years old.  Participants will decide on whether to swim laps or swim for time and will collect pledges/donations from family, friends, neighbors, and businesses.  Prizes will be awarded for the top three fundraisers.  In addition, door prizes, a 50-50 raffle and refreshments will be available on the day of the event.  For those who don’t want to get wet, “Swim for Scholarships” is also looking for volunteers to register swimmers, help count laps, and keep time on the day of the event.

For more information or to register or volunteer, contact Kraig Kinsey at 301-650-1566 or send an e-mail to
