Montgomery College to Hold Public Meeting to Discuss Plans for Rockville Campus

Montgomery College will hold a community meeting on Tuesday, April 10, at 7 p.m. to unveil design plans and to provide background on the planned construction of a new, state-of-the-art science center on the Rockville Campus. The meeting will be held in the Robert E. Parilla Performing Arts Center, 51 Mannakee Street in Rockville, Md.

The Rockville Campus opened in 1965 and is the largest of Montgomery College’s three campuses, enrolling approximately 15,000 students each fall. Two of the buildings most affected by the increased enrollment are Science East and Science West, which house the campus’s science, engineering and mathematics programs.

The new science center will provide much-needed, modernized labs and additional classroom space for the growing science, engineering and mathematics programs at the Rockville Campus. While still in the design phase, the project also calls for the renovation of both the Science East and Science West buildings.

For more information about the meeting or the project to construct the new Rockville Campus science center, contact Sandra Filippi at 301-251-7362 or
