Nearly 250 School Children to Celebrate Earth Day at Montgomery College Friday
MC Students, Faculty, Staff to Engage Kids in Hands-on Learning about Environment

Montgomery College’s Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus is hosting its fifth annual Earth Day event for nearly 250 Montgomery County elementary students in grades 3–4 tomorrow, May 1 from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Activities will be held in the Science North Building in rooms 105, 203, 209, 210A, 210B and the greenhouse and planetarium.
Students will make edible “landfills,” create terrariums from recycled materials, make Earth Day crafts, learn about natural resources, participate in beetle races, and visit with various critters such as geckos, lizards, turtles and spiders. The students will also tour the campus greenhouse to see blooming plants and flowers.
