Montgomery College, U. of Baltimore Forge New Articulation Agreement
Pact Improves Transfer Process for Allied Health Students Seeking a Bachelor’s Degree

Montgomery College and the University of Baltimore (UB) recently forged an articulation agreement that creates a seamless transfer process for Montgomery College’s allied health program graduates who want to pursue a bachelor’s degree from UB in health systems management.

As a result of the agreement, Montgomery College graduates with an associate’s degree in one of five allied health fields—diagnostic medical sonography, health information technology, physical therapist assistant, radiological technology and surgical technology—will be able to transfer their course credits into UB’s baccalaureate program in health systems management. The UB program is designed to prepare students for managerial and administrative roles in the health profession.

Starting this fall, UB’s health systems management courses will be offered at the Universities at Shady Grove—a University System of Maryland regional center located in Rockville. This will enable qualified graduates of Montgomery College’s allied health programs to ultimately complete their bachelor’s degree without leaving Montgomery County. UB’s courses will be offered in both a weekend and online format.

For more information on UB’s health systems management program at the Universities at Shady Grove, call Tracy Wicklund-Thiese, UB academic program coordinator at the Universities at Shady Grove, at 301-738-6352 or email tthiese@ubalt.edu. For information about the new articulation agreement, contact Diane Barberesi, Montgomery College coordinator of clinical education outreach, at 301-562-5562.
