Unique Transfer Program to Begin at Montgomery College This Fall
Program Guarantees Transfer Admission to University of Maryland for Successful MC Participants

This fall, Montgomery College will offer students the opportunity to enroll in the new Maryland Transfer Advantage Program, a partnership between Montgomery College and the University of Maryland, College Park designed to ease student transfer between the two institutions. Participating students who meet program requirements at Montgomery College will be guaranteed admission to Maryland.

The Maryland Transfer Advantage Program was created to meet the needs of new and current students at Montgomery College who plan to work towards a bachelor’s degree. The program will also assist students who were not admitted to Maryland straight out of high school. The university will offer admission to every student who meets the credit requirements of a Montgomery College associate’s degree or transfer studies certificate and maintains a 3.0 grade point average at Montgomery College.

After completing 15 credit hours at Montgomery College, the Maryland Transfer Advantage students will also be able to participate in advising activities at Maryland, including open houses, information sessions, and open advising sessions. Maryland Transfer Advantage students will also have the opportunity to take one class (no more than 9 credits total) at Maryland each semester at a reduced tuition rate.

For more information about the program and applications, visit www.montgomerycollege.edu/MTAP or call 301-279-5000 to be connected to the Counseling and Advising Offices at the three campuses of Montgomery College.
