Diversity Management Institute to Hold Training Workshop, Sept. 25-29
Rockville, MD -- Montgomery College’s Diversity Management Institute will be offering managers, supervisors and others tools and techniques to positively transform their organizations in a five-day workshop September 25-29.
The workshop, entitled “Diversity Change Agents Course,” is designed to provide skills needed to help achieve positive change in organizations that are seeking to more effectively manage diverse workforces.
The training, which was awarded the National Training Officers Conference Award in 1998, aims to create a deeper awareness of diversity and its value in the workplace, to provide an understanding of the impact of behavior on individuals, groups and organizations and to develop strategies to change behavior.
The course will build on participants’ basic skills in diversity management and will most benefit the people that deal with diversity issues, such as diversity, EEO and human resource specialists, as well managers and supervisors.
Darlene V. Floyd, of Horizon Management and Training Consultants, who developed the training course, and Tim Stranges of The Timothy Group, who was founding interim director of the Diversity Management Institute, will co-facilitate the workshop.
The five-day course will run from Monday, Sept. 25 through Friday, Sept. 29 and will be held at Montgomery College’s Wheaton Plaza Center, only two blocks from the Wheaton Metro. The tuition for the course is $925 and participants may earn continuing education credits (CEUs) upon successful completion of the course. For more information or to register, call 240-567-7960.
