Montgomery College Host Forum on African American Experience
Prominent Local Black Leaders Featured On Oct. 18 Panel at Rockville Campus

Montgomery College will host an open forum on the African American experience in Montgomery County on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at the Rockville Campus, featuring several of the county’s most prominent black leaders.

The roundtable discussion will feature a panel comprised of County Council Member Isiah Leggett, county School Board Member Reginald Felton, Odessa Shannon, director of the Montgomery County Human Relations Department, and Roscoe Nix, the past president of Montgomery County Chapter of the NAACP.

Each panel member has broken down racial barriers through his and her public service and civic activism in the county. The forum will provide an opportunity for them to share briefly their personal histories and then engage in an open discussion among themselves and the audience.

The forum is open to the public and starts at 7 p.m. It will be held in Room 119 of the Science East building on the College’s Rockville campus, 51 Mannakee Street, Rockville. For more information, call Lee Annis or Gail Ewing at 240-567-7287.
