Marriott International, Inc.

(Press conference to be held in Marriott's corporate test kitchen)
Marriott Chairman and Chief Executive Officer J.W. Marriott, Jr. will announce the J.Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation’s donation of $1 million to Montgomery College, a gift that will support the expansion of the College’s hospitality management program. Montgomery College President Charlene R. Nunley and Montgomery County Executive Douglas M. Duncan will join Mr. Marriott in announcing a partnership that will ultimately result in the creation of the new Marriott Hospitality Center at Montgomery College.
Marriott’s gift, one of the largest ever received by the community college, will enable the school to significantly expand education, internship and scholarship opportunities for its students. It will also help the college forge a partnership with a state university that will effectively create the county’s first-ever baccalaureate program in hotel and restaurant management.
(PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES: Mr. Marriott will present a ceremonial check to Dr. Nunley and a specially inscribed “Marriott Hospitality Center at Montgomery College” chef's coat to Dr. Nunley and County Executive Duncan. Also, Marriott chefs will involve the officials and Montgomery College students in a culinary demonstration.)
