(Takoma Park, Maryland) — Montgomery College will host a public meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 24, to provide an update on the Takoma Park Campus expansion project scope and timeline. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. and will be held in the Commons Building (Bliss Room) of the Takoma Park Campus, 7600 Takoma Avenue, Takoma Park.

The College will begin construction next year on a phased, three-building expansion project that will expand the campus into south Silver Spring, with a pedestrian overpass connecting the existing Takoma Park to newly acquired college property along Georgia Avenue. Among the new additions to the campus will be:

• A Student Services building on Fenton Street;

• A 500-seat Cultural Arts Center, adjacent to Jesup Blair Park;

• A Health Sciences and Continuing Education building on Georgia Avenue; and

• A new pedestrian bridge that will link the new buildings to the existing campus and connect nearby Takoma Park neighborhoods to Jesup Blair Park.
