Montgomery College Communications Institute Offers Workshops,
Seminars on Media and Public Relations
Geared for busy working adults,
Montgomery College’s new Communications Institute now offers a
series of short courses and seminars to help individuals develop
their skills in media and public relations. Led by distinguished
Washington-area professionals, sessions offer hands-on practice,
real-world examples and current professional techniques.
Among the workshops being offered

How to Write It So
Editors Will Publish It
Feb. 6–March 6.
You’ll learn news writing skills to craft news and feature
articles for newspapers, newsletters, and magazines (5
sessions).
When the Media Comes Knocking at
Your Door
Feb. 13.
Learn how to deal with an adversarial news media -- learn what
to say, what not to say, when to say it, and how to say it. (1
session)
Lifetime Tools--Lifetime Clients
Feb. 21.
Learn how to convert a one-time customer into a client forever
(1 session).
Perception: How to Promote It
March 21.
Find out from an expert how to ensure the perception you desire
to convey becomes a reality (1 session).
Role Playing the Role … and The
Responsibilities (The Anatomy of Corporate Media Relations)

Making News in the News Capital of
the World
April 3–17.
Find out how the "pros" convert ordinary news opportunities into
extraordinary ones, presented by William C. Rolle, Jr., who has

Hooking the Hostile Media
April 20.
Learn how to approach the news media and get the desired results
in a two-hour seminar that uses real case studies and high
