African Beadwork on Display at Montgomery College-Rockville

Montgomery College’s International Education Program has mounted a display of African beadwork as part of Black History Month observance and to promote its study/travel trip to Ghana, which will take place from July 19-August 8.

The items in the exhibit -- which include beaded masks and other ritual objects, stools, jewelry, walking sticks, hats, and household implements -- are on loan from The Artifactory, a Washington, D.C. gallery specializing in traditional African art.

The display is on the ground floor of the Humanities Building on the Rockville Campus, and will be up until about March 1. For more information, call Gail Forman at 240-567-7443.
