Montgomery College Launches Fall Season
of Enrichment Programs for Students in Grades K-8

Montgomery College’s Workforce Development & Continuing Education unit announces its fall season of youth programs for students in grades K through 8.

The first program, Kids on Campus, jointly sponsored by Montgomery College and Montgomery County Public Schools/Division of Community Outreach provides a variety of challenging and fun learning experiences. Courses run from four to eight weeks, with tuition ranging from $90 to $345.

The College's Germantown Campus offers one course, Study Skills Application. The Rockville Campus offers Another Time and Another Place; Cartooning; Creative Writing Workshop; Working and Playing with Words; Introduction to Ceramics; Keyboarding and Basic Windows; Keyboarding for Computers; The SOS Program: Learning to Learn; Stone Carving; Using MS Word; and Young Scientist. The Takoma Park Campus offers: Color, Color Color; The Joy of Cool Art Projects; and Sculpture and Art Construction.

The second program, Voyager on Campus, features Mysteries, an eight-week course for third through sixth graders. Students will penetrate layers of mystery, evaluate evidence, and investigate unexplained phenomena that have baffled the world’s greatest minds. They will develop critical thinking skills and challenge the limits of creativity as they search for answers to puzzling questions and elusive clues.

The course will be held at Montgomery College’s Rockville Campus, starting Saturday, October 20. Tuition is $165 for Maryland residents; non-residents add $40.
