Montgomery College Seeks New Student Board Member

Montgomery College is now accepting applications from Montgomery College students interested in serving a one-year term on the College Board of Trustees from July 1, 2002 to June 30, 2003. An independent citizens nominating committee, which is not a part of the College, will evaluate the applications of those who choose to apply.

Applicants must have successfully completed at least 18 credit hours at Montgomery College and possess a cumulative quality point average and a current semester quality point average of at least 2.0. All trustees serve without salary.

At the time of appointment and during the term of office, the student must be a Montgomery County resident who is enrolled in at least six credit hours of course work at Montgomery College. No applications from Montgomery College employees can be accepted.

The position involves an extensive time commitment above and beyond the regular board meetings. Applicants must attend an orientation session before interviews take place.

To apply, transmit (preferably by e-mail) a letter of intent, resume, and other supporting documentation, including a telephone number and an e-mail address, to Dr. Robert C. Maddox, Chairman of the Nominating Committee, at RbtCMaddox@aol.com or by postal mail or delivery to 10400 Democracy Lane, Potomac, MD 20854-4036. All applications must be received by 5 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2002, at one of the above addresses. Applications may not be accepted at the College.

Additional information about the nominating process is available from Dr. Maddox at 301-365-9051 or RbtCMaddox@aol.com, or Ms. Arlean Graham at the Montgomery College Board of Trustees Office, 240-567-5272.
