For Immediate Release (02-07) Black History Month Program at Montgomery
College Montgomery Colleges Workforce Development and Continuing Education division will host the African American Business Councils Annual Black History Program on Thursday, Feb. 28, 8 to 10 a.m. at the Montgomery College Business Training Center in Olde Towne Gaithersburg. Dayton J. Watkins, an award-winning minority entrepreneur and former U.S. Agriculture and Small Business Administrator, is the featured program speaker. Watkins will share some of his insights from launching more than 10 start-up companies and arranging financing to acquire several existing businesses. With more than 20 years of business experience in both the public and private sectors, Watkins received the "Hammer Award" for his outstanding leadership and creativity at the Rural Business-Cooperative Service (RBS), an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
