Montgomery College Alumni Association to Sponsor In an effort to prepare its members for this fall’s crucial county elections, the Montgomery College Alumni Association will present a County Council Candidates Breakfast on September 5. “The outcome of these elections will be critical to Montgomery County on several issues, including education and transportation,” says Alumni Association President Mahlon G. “Lon” Anderson. “So it’s vitally important that our alumni, who occupy so many positions of influence, be personally and thoroughly informed on the candidates’ views.” The breakfast will be held just five days before the primary elections, giving alumni and their guests a timely update on views of the eight Democrats and two Republicans vying for at-large seats on the County Council. The format will include a half-hour fellowship period, followed by a formal program during which the candidates will give opening statements, then be asked two questions about Montgomery College. The audience will have the opportunity to ask questions as well. The breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. in Rooms 221-223 of the Gudelsky Institute for Technical Education, Route 355 and North Campus Drive on Montgomery College’s Rockville campus.
