Community Invited to
Montgomery College Design Meeting
The public is invited to a design charette for the new Student Services Center that will be built on the Montgomery College Takoma Park campus. The meeting will be held Wednesday, September 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the Commons Building Cafeteria, Room 105 on the campus, which is located at 7600 Takoma Avenue in Takoma Park, Maryland.
A charette is a planning meeting at which stakeholders in a project offer their ideas and opinions to design team members, who make a best effort to resolve issues. This is the fourth such meeting to be held regarding the new Student Services Center. It offers community members yet another opportunity to be a part of designing the center, which is included in phase two of the College’s Takoma Park campus expansion project.
The building, to be built at the north end of the existing campus, will bring together student services that now are scattered across the Takoma Park campus. Groundbreaking is planned for 2004, with completion targeted for 2005.
At the September 23 charette, Montgomery College staff members also will discuss the design and construction schedule in detail and explain how the community will be kept informed throughout the process.
For information on the charette, please contact Chahnaz McRae, senior project manager, at 240-567-7374 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Information also is available from Jennie Wells who manages community outreach for the Takoma Park campus, at 240-567-3904 or email@example.com.
