Montgomery College Students, Community Remember 9/11
More than 200 people gather at Rockville Campus for Morning Ceremony

            Montgomery College students, faculty, and staff gathered at 8:45 this morning at the Rockville Campus flag pole, to honor and remember the men and women who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks of two years ago.   

More than 200 people attended the short ceremony held outside the Theater Arts Building.  The ceremony included brief remarks by the Student Senate President Nate Parry and Dr. Judy Ackerman, acting vice president and provost of the Rockville Campus.  A bagpiper, Michael Scott, performed and members of the Rockville Campus student choir sang “America, the Beautiful.”

Before and after the event, students handed out special 9/11 commemorative pins with the words, “We Remember.”  The event was organized by the Montgomery College-Rockville Student Senate and the Office of Student Life.
