Montgomery College and Montgomery County Public Schools are co-sponsoring one-week Career Camps, from Monday, June 23 to Friday, June 27, each day from 8:30 a.m. to 12:35 p.m., for high school students who are interested in exploring a variety of career options. The camps will be held at the College’s Germantown, Rockville, and Takoma Park campuses, simultaneously. Students will select a campus to attend and choose careers to survey.
At the camps, students will see the connection between high school, college, and the workplace. They will have the opportunity to learn about various careers and receive hands-on experiences that will help them decide if their chosen career is right for them. And, they will get valuable information about potential salaries, various pathways, and opportunities for advancement.
The College’s Germantown Campus will offer an exploration of the field of intensive biotechnology. The Rockville Campus will offer architecture, automotive technology, flash multimedia, interior design, photography (students must have a 35mm camera), professional restaurant management, and Web page design. The Takoma Park Campus will offer diagnostic medical sonography, nursing, radiologic (x-ray) technology, surgical technology, and Web page design.
The fee for the entire week is $100. Registration is due by Friday, April 4. For more information, please call Lisa Carvallo at 240-567-1911.
