News Release Date: January 2, 2009 Montgomery College to Offer High-Demand Courses at the Universities at Shady Grove
Montgomery College and the Universities at Shady Grove recently developed a new partnership to provide students with high-demand Montgomery College courses at the Universities at Shady Grove, starting with the spring 2009 semester which begins on January 26. This partnership aims to ease the transition of students from Montgomery College to baccalaureate degree programs at the Universities at Shady Grove. “This exciting partnership is an extension of the long-standing relationship that Montgomery College has with the Universities at Shady Grove,” said Dr. Mary Kay Shartle-Galotto, executive vice president for academic and student services at Montgomery College. “Not only will this enable the College to expand its course offerings, but our students will have the opportunity to take the classes they need while starting their university work at the Universities at Shady Grove.” Montgomery College anticipates 150 enrollments for the courses taught at the Universities at Shady Grove. The courses will include the Techniques of Reading and Writing II (EN102), Intro to World Literature I (EN201), Elements of Statistics (MA116) and General Psychology (PY102). The courses will be offered between 8 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday schedules. Both online and on-site registration services are available for MC classes held at the Universities at Shady Grove. To register online go to www.montgomerycollege.edu. On-site registration for MC classes held at the Universities at Shady Grove can be done at all three campuses. Registration at the Germantown Campus is held in the Sciences and Applied Studies Building, 20200 Observation Drive; at the Rockville Campus in the Student Services Building, 51 Mannakee Street; and at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus in the Student Services Center, located at the intersection of Fenton Street and New York Avenue.
