Bright
Ideas While studying business
at MC, Sharrod Robertson got his first job in a bank through a campus
employment services office. He transferred to
Howard University to complete a finance degree, then worked in the
corporate accounting department at Marriott International. Later, he
owned a Subway
franchise in Rockville, Md. As manager, Robertson worked from 9 a.m.
to midnight for two years, until he and his partners sold the business
for a 50 percent profit. Currently, Robertson is a real estate broker
serving Montgomery and Prince George’s counties. “I always
wanted my own business but wanted to learn in corporate America first before
I ventured out on my own.”
