The F. Scott Fitzgerald Literary Conference, Inc., is a non-profit organization that promotes appreciation of the literary arts. Every October, the organization hosts a day-long writing conference in Rockville where Fitzgerald summered with his family and where he worked on many of his manuscripts. This year, 2008, marks the thirteenth annual F. Scott Fitzgerald Literary Conference, which will culminate with the presentation of the Award for Outstanding Achievement in American Literature.

This year’s conference will culminate with the presentation of the Award for Outstanding Achievement in American Literature to Elmore Leonard, acclaimed novelist and screenwriter.

The Conference is a rare opportunity for area writers to work with some of the best instructors and professionals in the writing world today. Workshops and panels will address novels, short story, poetry and screen adaptations. New workshops this year are “Your poetry chapbook: is it ready for a publisher” and “the Complete Relationship: author and editor.” Check the conference website for schedule details and updates at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Literary Conference.
