Automotive Technology A.A.S. (R): 307
The curriculum prepares students for employment in the automotive service industry as a repair technician. The curriculum also prepares students for seven ASE automobile technician certification exams; ASE A-1, A-4, A-5, A-6, A-8 and L-1. Students are exposed to the following areas of expertise; Undercar (brakes, suspension, steering and alignment), Electrical (engine and chassis/body), Engine Performance (computer controlled fuel injection, ignition and emission control systems), Engine Repair and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning). All automotive (AT) classes consist of a lecture section and a lab (shop) section. Some AT classes also include a lab discussion section. Successful completion of this program, AT 220 and AT 230 leads to the award of an A.A.S. degree and the Powertrain Specialist certificate. Successful complete of this program, AT 220 and AT 230 also prepares students for all ASE automobile technician certification exams. This combination is designed for individuals seeking ASE Master automobile technician status.

Conditioning Specialist Certificate (R): 164 Automotive Electrical Systems Specialist Certificate (R): 162Revised: Effective Semester Spring 2006 This certificate curriculum prepares individuals for employment in the automotive service industry as an electrical systems technician. The curriculum also prepares individuals for the ASE A-6 (Electrical Systems) automobile technician certification exam. Credits may be applied to the Automotive Technology A.A.S. degree.
Revised: Effective Semester Spring 2006 This certificate curriculum prepares individuals for employment in the automotive service industry as an engine performance and repair technician. The curriculum also prepares individuals for ASE A-1 (Engine Repair), A-8 (Engine Performance), and L-1 (Advanced Engine Performance) automobile technician certification exams. Credits may be applied to the Automotive Technology A.A.S. degree.
Powertrain Specialist Certificate
(R): 161A (formerly Automotive Drive Train Specialist Certificate) This certificate curriculum prepares individuals for employment in the automotive service industry as an engine, automatic trans/transaxle, manual trans/transaxle and driveline repair technician. The curriculum also prepares individuals for ASE A-1 (Engine Repair), A-2 (Automatic Trans/Transaxle), and A-3 (Manual Drive Train and Axles) automobile technician certification exams. Credits may be applied to the Automotive Technology A.A.S. degree.
