Ethnic Social Studies

New:  Effective Semester - Fall 2007

This sequence of three courses is designed for persons who wish to develop skills or knowledge in Ethnic Social Studies.  In order to complete each course in this sequence, students need to demonstrate skills or knowledge in specific areas.  These areas include;  interdisciplinary knowledge about ethnic groups and relations in US society and in global contexts;  the history and politics of race and ethnicity within US society; cultural knowledge; an understanding of and sensitivity toward ethnic relations regarding power, community and social justice.  A grade of C or better is required in each course in the sequence
