The management certificate provides students with the opportunity to learn the concepts and principles of management as applied to any of the following options: Human Resources, Marketing, or Management Studies (a combination of courses designed by the student). The program is structured for students to focus on their preferred field of study or courses of interest, so that their studies may be closely related to their particular needs and may possibly be applied to higher academic objectives.

The Management Certificate may be applied toward a General Studies A.A. degree.

MG 201 Business Law 3
MG 102 Principles of Supervision 3
  MG Electives 15

Elective Courses:
Marketing MG 103, MG 105, MG 106, MG 109, MG 206  
Human Resources MG 120, MG 204, MG 205, MG 207, MG 210  
Management Studies Any combination of 15 credit hours of MG courses.*  
 

* The 15 credits of elective courses may be selected from one area of management or may cover several management areas.


Supervisory Management Letter of Recognition: 805

This sequence of courses is designed for those students who wish to develop skills for employment as a first-line supervisor. Students will gain an understanding of the legal requirements concerning employer/employee relations; application of the legal framework for labor/management relations; and the ramifications of discrimination in employment and its implications in such areas as hiring, firing, and working conditions. A grade of C or better is required for each course.
