Our Vision: Diversity is the wellspring of global understanding and fertilizer of sustainable human progress.

Our Mission: The Other Africa Festival is dedicated to promoting cross-cultural understanding between Africa and the United States by developing informative, educational and entertaining activities that will raise public awareness to the fact that despite popular belief, Africa offers a lot more than what is usually presented by the mainstream media, certain books and films.

The Other Africa Festival serves students, teachers/educators and communities in need of the sort of images and comprehensive information about Africa they have little or no chance to find anywhere else . We also are geared toward the tastes of people more interested in film as art- where theme, originality, cultural messages- are more important than far-fetched special effects.
