TESTING INFORMATION
ACET Program Entrance Requirement

General Preparation:
All candidates applying for the ACET program are required to present qualifying scores at or above the minimum on one of the standardized tests listed below:

  • SAT taken after 2005, math and critical reading total score of 1100; OR
  • SAT taken between 4/1995 and 2005, math and verbal total score of 1100; OR
  • SAT taken prior to 4/1995, math and verbal total score of 1000; OR
  • ACT composite score of 24; OR
  • GRE composite score of 1000; OR
  • Praxis I Pre-Professional Skills Test combined score of 527

Content Knowledge:
Each candidate is also required to successfully complete the Praxis II exams in the subject he or she is planning to teach. For Spanish certification, the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) examinations will also be accepted. Intermediate high scores on both the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) and the Writing Proficiency Test (WPT) are needed. The following exams with codes meet the subject assessment requirement for the discipline.   You should not take the Pedagogy part of the exam at this time.
