Methods of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TED 001)
Understanding how to make a range of instructional methods and techniques work is an essential for every teacher.  This class and Understanding Second Language Acquisition (TED 003) provide a foundation for the next set of courses in reading and assessment.

Understanding Second Language Acquisition (TED 003)
It is critical to have a basic understanding of how language and linguistics work in order to provide quality English language instruction.  This class will give you the principles of how language is acquired and will deepen your understanding of why certain instructional methods and techniques are used.

Teaching Reading Skills to ESOL Learners (TED 004)
Reading skills from literacy through college levels are critical for English language learners.  This class will provide you a foundation in how literacy is acquired and developed and how you can help your class move to higher literacy levels regardless of their starting point.

Assessment and Evaluation in the ESOL Classroom (TED 002)
Assessments and evaluation can serve a variety of purposes for English language learners.  Evaluations can help document progress, determine and address special needs, and meet accountability measures.  This class will help you understand the what, when, where, why, and how’s of assessment and evaluation in the second language classroom.
