Montgomery College's Driver Education course is approved by the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration. The course consists of the required 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours Behind the Wheel. Our classroom includes learner-centered instruction and is limited to 22 students per course; Behind the Wheel is one-on-one instruction with a certified Driving Instructor. Successful completion of this driver education course is one of the requirements for obtaining a Maryland driver's license.

Driver Improvement LessonsMontgomery College's Workforce Development and Continuing Education is now offering Driver Improvement Lessons in increments of 2, 4, 6, 10 ,20, or 60 hours for individuals needing more driving practice before their drivers test at the MVA or a refresher after a few years. See the application for rates. In addition, we offer the MVA 6-hour Behind the Wheel course separately for students who have completed the classroom portion of Driver Education at another school. The MVA 6 hour Behind the Wheel course costs $225.00. Out of state fees apply; No tuition waivers. *Special Class Several times a year we offer a co-taught Driver Ed class at a regular pace with a special educator to support participating students with mild learning disabilities who meet our readiness criteria.
