Project Management Institute® at Montgomery College

Project Management Professional (PMP®)

In general Project Managers with 3 or more years experince will find that the Project Management Professional (PMP®) series of courses is best for them. Those with less than 3 years experience in Project Management should look at the the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) series of courses. If you are not sure which course or sequence of courses is right for you we have provided a guide based on your previous project management level of experience. Project Management Professional (PMP®):

For those experienced Project Managers with 3 to 5 years of Project Management experience and little or no formal training, the suggested course sequence is:

  1. Project Management Essentials and Best Practices– MGT293, see course description
  2. Project Management Professional (PMP®) Exam Prep – MGT280, see course description

Experienced Project Managers with more than 3 to 5 years of Project Management experience and significant formal training should take:
