Students should take Early Childhood Education Classes to:

• Enhance skills in promoting literacy and numeracy concepts when working with young children
• Learn about the requirements for operating a family and center-based child care facility
• Earn clock hours and CEUs for training and licensing requirements
• Prepare for applying for a CDA credential

Early Childhood Education Training Classes

Montgomery College Workforce Development & Continuing Education offers Early Childhood Education courses that meet the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), Office of Child Care Licensing requirements and the Council for Professional Recognition (CDA). Course are offered in the areas of Child Development, Community, Curriculum, Health Safety & Nutrition, Professionalism, and Special Needs which may include different levels of challenge from beginner to multi-level senior.

On-Site Early Childhood Education Training

Let us train your work force at your place! The Early Childhood Education Department now offers more than 150 child development courses in English and 60 courses in Spanish. Let our instructors come to your site or a neighboring library to offer the courses at convenient and flexible times that accommodate your teachers' busy schedules. Funding for Training is Available

Attention Child Care Center Directors, did you know that money for training is available? Up to 50% of the Montgomery College training costs for employers may be reimbursed to your business. Training funds, up to $4,500.00 per employee are available to businesses through Montgomery Works, Maryland Business Works (MBW).
