Pathways to Success is a learning opportunity offered by Montgomery College Workforce Development & Continuing Education. It is designed for students who have a reading score of 35 to 52 points on the Accuplacer Reading Test.
Pathways to Success offers additional preparation in reading in order to qualify for credit courses. Pathways is a one-semester, noncredit program that includes an intense reading instruction course (PTS 007), a writing instruction course (PTS 008), and a life skills and career planning course (PTS 009). Students who complete the Pathways Program will be re-tested in Reading to determine their eligibility to continue on to college credit courses. Noncredit options are available to students whose scores are not high enough to advance to credit classes.
Students should register for Pathways courses before the beginning of the semester. Pathways students who reside in Montgomery County, and who have graduated from high school are eligible to apply for a special Pathways Grant to defray tuition and fees costs.Grant funds are limited, students are encouraged to apply early. To do so file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) form to the MC Financial Aid Office. http://www.montgomerycollege.edu/finaid
