WS_FTP Home Tutorial

This tutorial describes how to use WS_FTP Home with your web4students.montgomerycollege.edu hosting account.

Follow these steps to complete the tutorial:

1. Download/Installation

For MC employee and currently enrolled students, you can download WS_FTP Home from http://web4students.montgomerycollege.edu/ by clicking 'WS_FTP Home Download' on the left.

2. Settings

Once you install WS_FTP Home, open it up. Click the 'Connection Wizard' button on the top. Enter 'web4students' as the site name and click 'Next'.



Select 'FTP' as Connection Type and click 'Next'



Enter 'web4students.montgomerycollege.edu' as Server Address and click 'Next'.



Enter your username and password and click 'Next'.



Check 'Connect to this site' and click 'Finish' to finish setting up the site and connect to the Web4students site.



Next time when you open up WS_FTP Home, you can simply click the arrow by 'Connect' button and select 'web4students' to connect to the web4students server.



3. Transfering Files

Once you login to the server. The right-hand side of the window is the server and left-hand side is your local drives.

You can download or upload file(s) by highlighting the file(s) and click the corresponding arror in the middle of the sreen. You can also drag the files from one side and drop them on the other side.

The Information Window on the bottom of the screen will display the status of the transfer.
