Course Description |
Second of two related courses (with CH 203, which must be taken first). This course focuses on the basic concepts of
organic chemistry, with emphasis on classes of organic compounds, reaction mechanisms, synthesis, stereochemistry,
and structure determination. Laboratory work includes techniques in the preparation, analysis, and purification of organic
compounds. PREREQUISITE: CH 203 or consent of department. Three hours lecture, one hour discussion, four hours
laboratory each week. |
