OBJECTIVES:
 

1. To develop an understanding of the nature of philosophical inquiry;

2. To learn the structure and vocabulary of philosophical study;

3. To become familiar with several basic philosophical positions, i.e., realism, idealism, rationalism, empiricism;

4. To examine several of the basic philosophical problems;

5. To become acquainted with several of the world's major philosophers.
