Description of Course:
This course is designed to allow students to develop a portfolio that enables faculty to assess prior experiential learning for academic credit. Students will learn how to summarize significant life experiences, describe the nature of learning from experience, describe the competencies acquired as related to courses existing at Montgomery College and document such prior learning. Successful completion of DS150X does not guarantee credits for prior learning assessed by the faculty evaluators. PREREQUISITE: EN101/101A and eligibility for RD110. High school graduation 5 years previous. Sufficient depth of knowledge in an area to merit the awarding of college-level credit (3 semester hours).
Instructional procedures: Among the methods to be used in this class are individual and group exercises, journal writing, lectures and one-on-one interactions.
