Midterm Practice Activity CA272

Your midterm exam will be similar in format to this activity. However, the exam will have about twice as many steps, and may include other procedures besides those you need here. You should study all the topics we have covered through 10/6. I strongly suggest you practice with this assignment until you can do it in 40 minutes, using only Notepad, a browser, WSFTP, and the My Computer or Windows Explorer programs.

During the exam, you may consult one page of prepared notes. You will have 75 minutes to work on the exam.

This assignment is due Monday, 10/13. I will go over the answers with you Monday, giving you the corrected file to study from. For that reason, this assignment WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED LATE. If it is not posted to your website by the beginning of next class, you will not receive credit.

Copy the files from the Faculty P:\Kpenndem\CA272\MTPRAC folder to a diskette.

Edit the mtprac.htm file so that it looks like the printed version you received in class.

Change the title to your first name and last initial.
Below the location section, create an email link to your class email address. The clickable text should say "Contact us."
Put the map.gif file at the bottom, with a width of 300 pixels and a height that will not distort the original proportions.
Put the items listed at the top (Rooms, Restaurants, Services, Weddings, Transportation, Location) into a 2-row, 3-column table, centered on the page, with a border and spacing as shown in the print-out.
Link the items in the table to the appropriate sections of the document.
Link the word "Albuquerque" in the first paragraph to the city's web site at http://www.abqcvb.org
Fix the problem with the italics that don't turn off after the word "Mariachi."
Test the changes in your browser and save to disk.
Upload the file (mtprac.htm) and the map.gif to your class web site.
Print both the browser window and the source code.
Near the top of your personal index page, create a link to the midterm practice file.
