Brief Biography

Dr. Yee is a part-time adjunct faculty member at Montgomery College, having taught there for 8½ years (2003-2011).  Presently, he brings his professional digital design experience into the classroom as a professor for the Digital Logic Design course (EE244).  He previously taught the Scientific and Engineering Computation course (ES240) for eight semesters (4 years).

He currently works as a Senior Communications Systems Engineer consultant at GL Communications, Inc., where he designs control and communications centers for surface transportation mass-transit projects.  He previously worked at JDSU Corporation as both a Digital Hardware Design Engineer and Product Engineering Technical Lead in the Communications & Test Systems Division, in Germantown, MD, where he designed and developed numerous instruments for testing, monitoring and troubleshooting of telecommunications systems, ranging from telephone networks to cellular carrier networks to Ethernet-based switching networks, with typical customers such as Comcast, Verizon, AT&T and Time Warner.

Dr. Kam F. Yee earned a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University in 2000.  His thesis dissertation was in the area of advanced solid-state device structures with focus on device design and fabrication of sub-micrometer n-channel Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor transistors.

In his spare time, Dr. Yee enjoys long-distance running.  He is a member of Montgomery County Road Runners Club (MCRRC) and is often seen running along the streets and trails of Montgomery County, MD.  He also coaches running programs for novice runners.
