The region around gamma cygnii is a wonderful complex of light and dark nebulosity. It is the nearest that the northern sky has to compare to NGC 3372 in the southern sky, although it is much fainter. In adition to the nebula, there are a number of open clusters in the region. The brightest is situated just above gamma. This is NGC 6910.
