M36 NGC 1960

M 36 is a small, compact cluster of moderately bright stars in Auriga. The cluster is visible to the naked eye under dark skies. Being small, it is a good object for the telescope.

To the west (right) of M 36 is a small, reddish patch. This is the open cluster, NGC 1931 and nebula Sh2-237.
