Planets

I have done very little in the way of planetary imaging over the years. Most of my planetary observations have been visual. In the early days, film photography of planets was not very rewarding due to atmospheric bluring during the relatively long exposures required. Since aquiring a CCD I have tried a little planetary imaging, however the problem has always been the lack of time because of other imaging projects. Another problem in recent times has been the observatory that I currently use...... the telescope is just bolted to the roof of a building... and the slightest movement either inside the observatory, or elsewhere in the building, shakes the telescope and renders planetary images a disaster!!!!!

Below are some of the planetary images I have obtained, both film and CCD.

Mercury

Venus
