This lab course is designed for non-science majors. It is for the general education student who needs a science lab course, CH109B is taken along with CH109A. CH 109B may be taken also one year after completing 109-A.
To satisfy the natural sciences lab distribution requirement, CH109A and CH109B must be taken concurrently.
Pre or Corequisite: CH109A. This course may not be taken more than one calandar year after completion of CH109A.
Assessment levels: EN101/101A, MA091, RD 110
Must be taken concurrently with CH109A
four hours of laboratory each week
1 semester hour
The following are some typical experiments for CH109B. The actual experiments performed during a semester may vary depending on the semester. Specific information concerning laboratory requirements will be given by the laboratory instructor. The lab experiments are fun and informative. They deal with general chemical principles. Usually, the students are taken to two field trips per semester.Regular attendance, good laboratory skills and safety features, well-written reports and worksheets ensure in general pretty high grades to Chem. 109-B students.
